High-Definition television, also known as HDTV, is a digital broadcasting system with a more distinct detail in image than the average television. High-definition is most commonly found in digital images, film images, photographic film, and other visual devices in which the picture has been made clearer, greater detailed picture. HDTV has a clearer image than standard television, where the visual image is up to five times sharper.
The website http://www.hometechanswers.com/hdtv/advantages-of-high-definition-tv.html continues to talk about some advantages of HDTV. Perks to HDTV is a clear picture, finer sound , advanced scanning, and a wider viewing screen; HDTV’s are more wide than they are long. HD helps perfect the imperfections in picture and sound that is noticed while watching the standard traditional TV.
In addition to HDTV, HD also is available in HDTV DVD players, HD computers, HD video cameras, HDTV surround sound, and HD cameras. As you can see, majority of visual image is quickly relying and adapting high-definition screens. High- definition can be used by organizations to improve organizational communication specifically because podcasting and vodcasting are new popular forms of media that are used, by organizations, to help send messages internally and externally. Particularly, a greater image and a finer sound, in a vodcast and podcast are very beneficial in improving organizational communication because the members in an organization can repeatedly watch and hear information that has been recorder and with the high-definition the message will appear and be hear more clearly; avoiding miscommunication with what was said and what has been seen.
High-definition will not only help organizations get messages out clearly but also improve communication between the people within an organization and information they are retrieving from computers. Considering the rapid advancement and how dependent the contemporary world is on computers, the improvement in image and sound a computer has, thanks to high-definition, is extremely imperative.
A large disadvantage in HDTV or high-definition anything, is that HD is very expensive, or at least much more than standard television; large HDTV can cost several thousand dollars. Also, they sometimes require professional installation, require surround sound, and also may not come with speakers; resulting and contributing to the large cost.
I would rate this new technology a 4 ½ . I truly believe it is going to be essential in an organization and eventually the majority of people are going to be using HD because it improves both sound and image.
